What people hire a chauffeur in Dubai for

A Dubai chauffeur spends most days on one long road. Sheikh Zayed Road strings together the Trade Centre, DIFC, Downtown, Al Barsha, the Marina and Jebel Ali, and most jobs are points along it, plus the old city by the Creek. How booking, pricing and licensing work in every emirate is on our chauffeur service across the UAE page. This one sticks to Dubai.

DIFC and Business Bay are the business core. The DIFC Gate Building on Al Sukook Street is about 20 km from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB), around 33 minutes on Al Khail Road with clear roads. Three meetings here may sit within a few kilometres, but the car is waiting downstairs when you walk out at 1 pm in August.

Trade shows now split across two venues. Dubai World Trade Centre sits on Sheikh Zayed Road in the city, 19 km from DXB. Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City is out near the Abu Dhabi border, 52 km from DXB but only 23 km from Al Maktoum International (DWC). Check which venue your stand is in before you pick a hotel.

Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina hotels sit 40-45 km from DXB; Atlantis The Palm is about 56 minutes away on clear roads. For dinner in Downtown, one driver held for the evening beats two app rides at midnight.

Deira and Bur Dubai, with Al Fahidi Fort and the souks, mean short hops on tight streets. The driver drops you at the door and circles.

If the day starts with a landing, we track the flight, the driver waits in arrivals with a name board, and the first 60 minutes of waiting are free. As of 12 October 2026, some airlines still run reduced Dubai schedules after this year’s airspace disruption, so send the flight number rather than a time.

Dubai event calendar for chauffeur bookings

Dates in brackets are the latest published by organisers or the press.

Event Venue Usual timing
Gulfood Dubai World Trade Centre and Expo City Late January
WHX Dubai (formerly Arab Health) Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City February
Dubai World Cup Meydan Racecourse Late March
WETEX Dubai World Trade Centre October (20-22 Oct 2026)
Automechanika Dubai Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City November (10-12 Nov 2026)
Big 5 Global Dubai World Trade Centre Late November (23-26 Nov 2026)
Dubai Airshow Dubai World Central November, odd-numbered years
GITEX Global Expo City, from 2026 December (8-11 Dec 2026)

The DP World Tour Championship golf at Jumeirah Golf Estates is usually in November too.

2026 was not a normal year: the regional conflict pushed Arabian Travel Market from May to September and Art Dubai from April to May. Treat “usual” as a guide and confirm dates with the organiser, as with GITEX Global 2026. Book show-week cars once your stand is confirmed.

Hire a private driver in Dubai by the hour or by the trip

Book by the trip when you go from A to B and stay there: a Marina hotel to a DWTC hall, or Business Bay to the airport. Fifteen minutes of waiting is free at the pickup.

Book by the hour when the car has to wait for you: three meetings across DIFC and Business Bay, a Gulfood day that ends with dinner in Downtown, or a loop from the Burj Khalifa to the Dubai Frame and Al Fahidi. Minimum hours and overtime are covered under hourly chauffeur hire in Dubai. If you’re booking for visiting executives, the corporate chauffeur page covers invoicing and roadshows.

Salik gates, bridges and rush hour

Salik, Dubai’s toll system, has 10 gates. A chauffeur meets some of them every day: Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road, the usual road from DXB; Al Safa North and South, Al Barsha and Jebel Ali on Sheikh Zayed Road; and Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge and the Airport Tunnel around the Creek. Each crossing costs AED 6 at peak (06:00-10:00 and 16:00-20:00, Monday to Saturday), AED 4 off-peak and all day Sunday, and nothing from 01:00 to 06:00, according to the Dubai government’s Salik page. 5% VAT was added from 1 June 2026.

So a day that bounces between the Marina and DIFC pays at Al Barsha and Al Safa on every pass. Group stops by area to cut both tolls and time. Passing Al Safa North and South in the same direction within an hour counts once. Our guide to Salik and Darb tolls has the full gate list.

Fridays need slack around midday: government offices close at noon and the nationwide Friday prayer has started at 12:45 since January 2026.

Day trips and transfers out of Dubai

Abu Dhabi is about 132 km from Terminal 3 to Zayed International on Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11, around 1 hour 45 minutes with clear roads. Since 4 May 2026 the Ghantoot Darb gate on the E11 charges AED 4 at any hour. The DXB to Abu Dhabi route has the detail.

Al Ain is 140 km from DXB, roughly 1 hour 55 minutes on Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan Road; see the Dubai Airport to Al Ain transfer. Hatta, Dubai’s mountain town, is 111 km out on the E44, and Hatta Dam makes a full day with a driver.

Which car to book for a chauffeur service in Dubai

For one or two people heading to DIFC, a business sedan such as the Lexus ES or Mercedes E-Class is enough. For a board member, or dinner at the Burj Al Arab, step up to an S-Class or BMW 7 Series, or a Rolls-Royce from the ultra-luxury class.

A family of five with luggage bound for the Palm should book the V-Class, not a sedan. UAE rules keep children aged 10 or under, or shorter than 145 cm, out of the front seat, and under-4s need a child seat, which we fit on request. For eight or more going to a show at Expo City, look at the vans and minibuses.

Chauffeur service in Dubai: questions

How much is a private chauffeur in Dubai?

It depends on the car class, the hours and the route. A sedan for one trip from Business Bay to DIFC costs far less than an S-Class held for a full day that runs out to Expo City. Licensed luxury-car firms in Dubai commit to charging above the RTA taxi tariff. Send your plan on WhatsApp and we reply with a fixed fare.

Are your Dubai chauffeur cars licensed?

Yes. All our cars are RTA-licensed for chauffeur hire. Dubai chauffeurs also hold an RTA Professional Practice Permit in the Dubai Drive app, which you can ask to see. A licensed chauffeur car in Dubai may only carry passengers who booked ahead, so every one of our trips starts with your booking on WhatsApp or the site form.

Which airport is closer to Expo City Dubai?

Al Maktoum International (DWC). By road it's about 23 km from the DWC passenger terminal to Expo City, against roughly 52 km from Terminal 3 at Dubai International. Most visitors still land at DXB, so for a show at Dubai Exhibition Centre allow about an hour each way from DXB even with clear roads.

Do Salik tolls apply to late-night trips?

No. Salik is free from 01:00 to 06:00 every day. Outside that window a crossing costs AED 6 at peak (Monday to Saturday, 06:00-10:00 and 16:00-20:00) and AED 4 off-peak and on Sundays, with 5% VAT added since June 2026. A 03:00 arrival heading to the Marina crosses the gates free.

Can a Dubai driver take us to Hatta for the day?

Yes. Hatta Dam is about 111 km from DXB Terminal 3 on the E44 Dubai-Hatta Road, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes with clear roads. Book a full-day block so the driver waits while you explore, and start early in the hot months. Two people fit a sedan; a family with a cool box and hiking gear is better in a van.

Where is GITEX Global held from 2026?

GITEX moved from October at Dubai World Trade Centre to December at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai. The organiser lists the 2026 expo for 8-11 December, with a summit on 7 December. Expo City is much further from Dubai International than the Trade Centre is, so plan more time per day and confirm dates on the GITEX site.

Which Dubai airport will I land at?

Most flights use Dubai International (DXB). Terminal 3 is for Emirates, while Terminals 1 and 2 handle other airlines, with many flydubai flights at Terminal 2. Al Maktoum International (DWC) mostly sees low-cost, charter and seasonal flights. Your ticket shows the airport code and terminal; send both with the flight number when you book.
