Chauffeur service in the UAE, by the trip, the hour or the day

A chauffeur service in the UAE gives you a private driver and a car you choose, booked for one trip, by the hour or for a full day. We drive in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Send your plan on WhatsApp and we reply with a fixed fare before you travel.

What a chauffeur service in the UAE is

A chauffeur service is a car with a driver that you book in advance, on your timetable, at a price agreed before the wheels turn. You choose the class of car. The driver meets you and stays with your booking until the job is done.

The Dubai regulator calls it “passenger transport by luxury motor vehicles”, a licence separate from taxis, issued by the Roads and Transport Authority. The booking is the legal line: a chauffeur car in Dubai can only carry passengers who booked before it arrived.

By the trip, by the hour or for a full day

Booking How the fare works Good for
Single trip One fixed fare, pickup to drop-off Airport runs, hotel to meeting, Dubai to Abu Dhabi
By the hour A block of hours, driver waits between stops Four meetings across Business Bay and DIFC
Full day A longer block, usually 8-10 hours in the UAE market Roadshows, a day in Abu Dhabi, a wedding

Our rule of thumb from the dispatch desk: one stop and a three-hour meeting means two single trips. Four stops in an afternoon means hourly, because the car is already outside when you walk out. Most UAE operators set a two or three hour minimum for hourly chauffeur hire.

What people hire a private driver in the UAE for

Airport pickups come first for most visitors: the driver tracks the flight and waits in arrivals with a name board, with 60 minutes of free waiting. See UAE airport transfers for the six airports we serve.

Then come business days with a corporate chauffeur, and families heading to Ras Al Khaimah or the Fujairah coast on transfers between emirates, where buses stop well short of the hotel door. Weddings, sightseeing and cruise days fill the rest.

Choosing the car for your chauffeur service

Count people and large bags first. A business sedan such as the Lexus ES or Mercedes E-Class takes three passengers and two large cases. Executives usually step up to the S-Class or BMW 7 Series: same headcount, a bigger and quieter rear cabin.

Families are where bookings go wrong. UAE rules put children under four in a child seat and keep any child aged 10 or under, or shorter than 145 cm, out of the front seat (child car seat rules). With two adults and three children, only one adult can take the front seat, so the back would need four. Book a V-Class or another van, not a sedan.

Chauffeur service vs limousine vs taxi

A taxi runs on a meter. A chauffeur car is booked ahead at a fixed fare, and “limousine” is the UAE’s everyday word for the same thing, stretch or not.

Licensed luxury car firms in Dubai commit to charging above the taxi tariff, so a chauffeur is never the cheapest way across town. You pay for a known car and a known price. Our taxi vs private transfer guide runs the numbers.

What a licensed chauffeur operator looks like

In Dubai, a licensed chauffeur car carries only passengers who booked ahead, and its driver holds an RTA permit. All our cars are RTA-licensed for chauffeur hire. Four checks you can make on any operator:

  1. You booked before the car turned up. The RTA fines a luxury-car driver AED 400 for a first offence of picking up without a prior booking (RTA violations schedule), so a driver touting rides at the arrivals kerb is a red flag.
  2. The driver holds an RTA Professional Practice Permit in the Dubai Drive app, and you may ask to see it.
  3. The car displays its RTA identification and tariff stickers.
  4. The driver gives you a trip receipt if you ask for one.

Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah run their own permit systems. The checklist for hiring a chauffeur adds questions to ask before you pay.

Questions travellers ask

What is the difference between a chauffeur and a driver?

In the UAE, "driver" often means someone a household or company employs directly, usually on a monthly contract. A chauffeur comes with the car from a transport company and is booked for a trip, a few hours or a day. You don't sponsor anyone or maintain a car: you pick the vehicle class, agree the fare and get in.

Can I hire a car with a driver for a full day in the UAE?

Yes. Tell us the start time, the stops you know about and roughly when you'll finish, and we quote a fixed fare for the day. In the UAE market a full day usually means 8-10 hours. If the plan includes Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, say so up front so the fare covers the distance.

How much does a chauffeur service cost in the UAE?

It depends on the car class, the hours or distance, how many emirates you cross and the tolls on the way, Salik in Dubai and Darb in Abu Dhabi. We don't publish a price list. Send the plan on WhatsApp and we reply with a fixed fare for the car you want, so you know the full cost before you commit.

Can a chauffeur take me from Dubai to another emirate?

Yes. We drive between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, and take trips to Ajman and Al Ain. Give us every stop when you book so the fixed fare covers the whole route. Long cross-emirate runs are where a fixed fare helps most, because a taxi meter keeps running through every slow stretch.

Can I book a private driver on the same day?

You can ask at any hour, because we answer bookings 24 hours a day. Message us as soon as you know the time and we'll tell you straight away whether the car class you want is free. Remember that in Dubai a chauffeur car may only carry passengers who booked, so even a last-minute ride needs a confirmed booking first.

Does the chauffeur wait if my meeting runs late?

On hourly and full-day bookings the driver stays with the car until your booked time ends. If you need longer, message us and we'll confirm the extra time and fare. On single trips you get 15 minutes of free waiting at hotels, homes and offices, and 60 minutes at airports.
