Chauffeur cars by class: seats, bags and best use
The numbers below are comfortable chauffeur loads with luggage, not the seat count in the brochure. A GMC Yukon has seven or eight seats, but six adults with four large cases is the honest load.
| Class | Typical models | Passengers | Large bags | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedans | Lexus ES, Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Toyota Camry | 3 | 2 | Airport runs for one to three, business meetings |
| Luxury sedans | Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8, Mercedes-Maybach S-Class | 3 | 2 | Executives, VIP arrivals, long intercity drives |
| Rolls-Royce and Bentley | Rolls-Royce Ghost, Phantom and Cullinan, Bentley Flying Spur | 3 | 2 (Cullinan 3) | Weddings, VIP arrivals, red-carpet events |
| Luxury SUVs | Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon Denali, Chevrolet Suburban, Range Rover, Toyota Land Cruiser | 3-6 | 3-5 | Families with luggage, trips to Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah |
| Vans | Mercedes V-Class, Kia Carnival, Toyota HiAce | 6-12 | 4-7 | Families of five or six, small groups |
| Minibuses | Mercedes Sprinter, Toyota Coaster | 12-21 | 9-12 | Delegations, wedding guests, sports teams |
| Coaches | Full-size luxury coach | Confirmed with your quote | Luggage hold | Conferences, events, large airport groups |
Each model page lists its own figures. The ranges cover the spread inside a class: a Range Rover seats three in the back, a Suburban six. Every car in every class is RTA-licensed for chauffeur hire.
How to choose the right chauffeur car
Count the large suitcases before you count heads. Every sedan in the table, the Mercedes S-Class included, takes two large cases. A third goes on the back seat, and then a passenger doesn’t. Plug-in hybrid versions of big sedans also give up boot space to the battery, which is why we don’t stretch that number.
A family of four flying in for a week usually lands with four large cases. That’s a full-size SUV or the Mercedes V-Class, whatever the headcount says. Children change the maths too. By law, under-fours ride in a child seat and no child aged 10 or under, or shorter than 145 cm, sits in the front (UAE child seat rules), so the front seat is out of play for most families.
For executives, the S-Class, 7 Series and A8 are close enough that the choice comes down to taste. The Maybach makes most sense for one or two VIPs in the rear. For a wedding car, the Ghost and Phantom are the classic picks, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the one to choose if a third suitcase has to come along.
For long runs north to Ras Al Khaimah or over the Hajar mountains to Fujairah, an SUV’s higher seat and bigger boot are worth having. Groups are simpler: the Mercedes Sprinter for a dozen or so, the Toyota Coaster for about twenty. The Coaster has much less luggage room than a full coach, so an airport group with full suitcases may need a second vehicle for the bags. Our group transportation page covers event and team bookings.
