The 7 Series is the luxury sedan for clients who’d rather not take the obvious Mercedes. It sits beside the S-Class in our luxury fleet with a different personality: bolder to look at, and more screen than wood inside.
Who books a BMW 7 Series with driver
Usually tech and finance executives who like the big screen and the automatic doors, or passengers on long intercity transfers who want to watch something or work all the way. Visiting BMW owners ask for it too, because it’s the car they’d drive at home.
The rear seat and the Theatre Screen
BMW built the current generation, the G70, around its rear cabin. The headline option is the 31.3-inch BMW Theatre Screen, which folds down from the roof, streams in 8K and has a camera for video calls. The rear sunblinds close automatically when it comes down. Each rear door carries a BMW Touch Command unit, so you control the screen and the cabin from the armrest, and four-zone automatic climate control is standard.
On cars with the optional Executive Lounge, the seat behind the front passenger reclines to a torso angle of up to 43 degrees, with a leg rest. Massage is available too.
BMW revealed an updated 7 Series in April 2026 and gave it its Middle East debut in Dubai on 8 September 2026 (BMW Group press release). Chauffeur cars in the UAE span more than one 7 Series generation, and the Theatre Screen and Executive Lounge arrived with the G70. If a specific option matters, ask us to confirm it on the car for your date.
Luggage: plan on two large cases
BMW quoted 540 litres of boot for the 740i before the update. Plan on two large check-in cases plus cabin bags. Plug-in hybrid and electric i7 versions may carry less, so if you have three big cases, ask first or book a GMC Yukon Denali instead.
Long trips where the 7 Series makes sense
An hour or more in the back is where it pulls ahead of a business sedan. A Dubai airport to Al Ain transfer, or a late arrival heading north to Ras Al Khaimah, gives the screen and the reclining seat time to matter. It also suits corporate chauffeur days for senior staff who work between meetings. For a 20-minute hop from DXB to Downtown, a business sedan does the same job.
BMW 7 Series vs Mercedes S-Class vs Audi A8
| BMW 7 Series | Mercedes S-Class | Audi A8 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passengers and large cases | 3 and 2 | 3 and 2 | 3 and 2 |
| Rear screen | Optional 31.3-inch Theatre Screen | Optional dual rear screens | Optional seatback screens |
| Reclining rear seat | Executive Lounge, up to 43 degrees | Available on higher specs | Relaxation seat with foot massage (A8 L) |
| Character | Bold and tech-led | Classic VIP | Quiet and understated |
The Mercedes S-Class is the safe, classic choice. The Audi A8 suits clients who want luxury without attention. The 7 Series is for the guest who will actually use the screen.
Booking tips
If the passenger is flying in overnight, ask for a car with the Executive Lounge. Send the flight number and the name for the board, and tell us the number of large cases so we can confirm the boot before the day.
